Terrarium Care Instructions
How to Care for Your Jungle Terrarium
- Skip watering for the first week. Your terrarium will usually arrive slightly moist.
- Water only when the soil or moss feels dry. Let the terrarium dry slightly between waterings (about 1–2 times per month).
- Light: Use a grow light (preferred) or place in bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Do not mist. Instead, pour water directly into the bottom tray. Do not overflow the container.
- A small amount of residual water is fine, but the terrarium should not stay overly wet.
- Use filtered water mixed with diluted fertilizer. A simple ratio is 1 part fertilizer to 3 parts water.
- Remove dead leaves or plant matter to prevent mold from developing.
- Avoid getting wood and plant surfaces wet, as they are sensitive to standing water.
- Trim plants occasionally to keep the terrarium compact and healthy.
- Do not allow the terrarium to completely dry out. If you’ll be away for a while, add a little extra water beforehand.
